Christopher Shannon "Chris" Penn was an American film and television actor who passed away at the age of 40 due to heart disease. He is best known for his roles in the movies, "Reservoir Dogs," and "Footloose." In the movie “Footloose” the scenes where his character had to learn how to dance were added to the script because he really could not dance.
Born 1965 in Los Angeles, California, Penn film's debut was in the film, "Charlie and the Talking Buzzard" in 1979. Five years later, he starred with Tom Cruise in the movie, “All the Right Moves.” In 1984, he starred as the best friend of Kevin Bacon in the hit dance movie, "Footloose." In 1985, Penn played a villain in the Clint Eastwood western, "Pale Rider." He starred in the “Reservoir Dogs” in 1992 playing Nice Guy Eddie Cabot and the next year performed as Nicky Dimes in "True Romance." Then in 1996 Penn won for "Best Supporting Actor" at the Venice Film Festival for the film, "The Funeral." Two years later he appeared in Jackie Chan movie, "Rush Hour.”
